There was a bumper crop of holly-leaved cherries along the Chamberlain segment of the Backbone Trail. Despite appearances, the fruit is thin-pulped abd the pit large. The unripe fruit, pit, and other parts of the plant contain a chemical that converts to cyanide when ingested. Photo taken August 7, 2022.
