Upper Las VIrgenes Creek a couple of days before the rainbow run. This large pool can be bypassed using a short trail just east of the dirt road.
Erosion and mud on the way up a hill that was called The Beast" by crosscountry runners back in the day. The trail/dirt road leads up to Lasky Mesa.
Amazing lighting on the hills of Ahmanson Ranch. There is just the hint of a rainbow on the right.
The rainbox shows where the rain is -- and it's getting closer!
A complaining raven on the west end of Lasky Mesa.
Running in the rain and chasing a rainbow on Lasky Mesa.
Rainbow and oaks on Lasky Mesa. The white bird perched at the top of the valley oak on the left is a white-tailed kite.
This run was one of the prettiest I've done in 20+ years of running at Ahmanson Ranch. January 19, 2023.
