Runners waiting for the start of the 'Back 50K' at the Sugarloaf Aid Station. The Kodiak course(s) were run clockwise around Big Bear Lake in 2016 and 2018, and counterclockwise in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.

The long Radford Road descent. The road drops about 2100' over 4 miles to the low point of the course at about 5970'.
The infamous Seven Oaks Trail climbs from Radford Road to the Grandview Aid Station, gaining about 1650' in around 2.3 miles.
When you pass by this rock outcrop you're just about to the Grandview Aid Station.
