Was sad to see these coast live oaks on Mesa Peak Mtwy were severely burned. They provided welcome shade on hot summer days.
Rockfall along Mesa Peak Mtwy. Much of this probably occurred during the fire or subsequent rainstorm, but we didn't waste any time moving past the area.
With some exceptions, mostly understory burned on the section of Mesa Peak Mtwy from the Picnic Table to Tapia Park.

The fire behavior was (generally) more subdued on the section of Mesa Peak Mtwy above Tapia Park.
Malibu Creek State Park was one of the most severely burned areas in the Woolsey Fire. This is Brents Mountain.
Was very glad to see these coast live oaks along Crags Road, west of the parking lot, still standing!
